Beth Harland studied at The Ruskin School of Art, Oxford University, and Royal College of Art, London. She is currently Director of the Graduate School, Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton.

Research:

2007    PhD:  A Fragment of Time in the Pure State; a mapping of Painting’s Time through Proust, Deleuze and the Digital Image.

2003    AHRC research award: Between surface and screen; painting and the digital image in an experimental dialogue.

2000    Abbey Award   British School at Rome – 3 month scholarship
